So... remember that whole "yeah... we're finally moving into our brand new office!" post last week? That was fun to write. Then:
Thursday a giant storm rolled in and knocked out our power from Thurs-Sun.
That same storm put over a foot of water in our basement
Then the pump to get the water out broke
Then we realized that the brand new gas line to run the stove in our new office had been damaged
Then our dog, Wonka got blasted square in the face by a skunk in heat
Bottom line: no power + flood + no heat + stank dog = no move
We went back to work as usual this week, and said... well, there's always next weekend. Tomorrow will be the big day assuming mother nature doesn't ascend on us again. Until then, here are some more pictures of the build process.
Insulation went in, then drywall up to the ceiling. French doors, a skylight... new roof. The old outhouse is now a platform for my red gas stove. We left all of the beams exposed that we could. Originally I'd wanted barn board instead of drywall for the entire room, but barn board is very expensive so I had to cave.
Chandeliers go up tomorrow morning, the furniture goes in tomorrow afternoon. Photos to follow...
